The myth of "Nuwa mending the sky" is the most influential myth in the three Jin Dynasty. This myth comes from Huainanzi. The full text is as follows:
In ancient times, the four poles were abandoned, the nine states were split, the sky was not covered, and the earth was not carried; the fire was not extinguished, and the water was endless; beasts ate Zhuan people, and birds of prey seized the old and the weak. So Nu Wa smelted five colored stones to fill the sky, cut off the Ao enough to set up the four poles, killed the black dragon to aid Jizhou, and accumulated reed ash to stop the water. The heaven is mended, and the four poles are upright; the water is dried up, and Jizhou is flat; cunning insects die, and Zhuan Minsheng lives; back to Fangzhou, and round the sky.
According to relevant information, there are five Nuwa tombs in China, two in Shanxi Province, one in Fengling of Ruicheng County, and the other in Zhaocheng of Hongdong county. According to the ancient books such as general textual research of literature, records of the universe and records of nine cities, it is said that the tomb of Nu Wa was in Zhaocheng, and the sacrificial rites of all dynasties were also in Zhaocheng. In addition, there are also Nuwa temple and Nuwa mending place in Fushan County. Jizhou in myth refers to the junction of Shanxi and Hebei. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that the myth of "Nuwa mending the sky" originated in Shanxi. Nuwa, or nvyin, is the pseudonym of the God of fertility. In the romance of customs, there is a saying that Nuwa made man. Wherever there is a Nuwa temple, the custom of praying for a son in Nuwa Temple prevails. Although there is no scientific basis for this, it is permeated with a primitive culture of reproduction worship. In the primitive times, tribal wars were very cruel and frequent, and they all depended on human force to fight against each other. Therefore, people expect women to have a large number of children, so that the Ding clan can prosper, in order to avoid the fate of extinction. Therefore, "Nuwa mending the sky" came into being. In the myth of "Nuwa mending the sky", the sky that Nuwa mends is the sky above her head; the ground she supports is the ground under her feet; what she creates is a world for human beings to live in peace; what she reflects is her fearless courage. At the beginning of the universe, there were only two brothers and sisters under the Kunlun Mountains, and there were no other people in the world. They want to be husband and wife, but they are ashamed. My brother and sister went up to Kunlun Mountain and said, "If heaven agrees that my brother and sister are husband and wife, please unite all the clouds in the sky, or you can disperse them. So the clouds in the sky immediately joined up, and they became husband and wife. The Chinese nation is their descendants.
