Two stages of the Zhou Dynasty

In 1046 B.C., after King Wu of Zhou destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he established the Zhou Dynasty, and built the capital in Hao (to the east of Fenghe River in Chang'an, Shaanxi Province). After the eastern expedition, the Duke of Zhou established the patriarchal system, established the rules and regulations, and continued to enfeoffment the princes. In 771 BC, king you of Zhou was killed. The next year, King Ping of Zhou Dynasty moved eastward to Luoyi (now Luoyang, Henan Province). In history, it was called the Western Zhou Dynasty before King Ping moved to the East, and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty later. As we all know, the Zhou Dynasty is divided into the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. From the 11th century B.C. to 770 B.C., it is called the Western Zhou Dynasty, and from 770 B.C. until 221 B.C., the first emperor of Qin unified six countries, which is called the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Why? King Wu of Zhou died soon after he established the Zhou Dynasty. His son succeeded to the throne, which was king Zhou Cheng. From King Cheng of Zhou to his son king Kang of Zhou, about 50 years ago, it was a period of prosperity and unification of Zhou Dynasty, which was called "the rule of Cheng Kang" in history. Later, due to the increasing exploitation of the slave owners and nobles, the revolt of the slaves and the people rose. In order to suppress the people, the rulers of Zhou Dynasty adopted very severe punishment. After King li of Zhou ascended the throne, the oppression on the people became more severe. At that time, farmers living in the wild were called "savages", while civilians living in the capital were called "countrymen". The people in chojing, the capital of Zhou Dynasty, were dissatisfied with the tyrannical rule of King Li. In order to prevent the discussion of the Chinese, King li of Zhou issued an order: the Chinese were not allowed to criticize the government. Once found, they would be tortured. Under such pressure, Chinese people really dare not discuss it in public. When people meet acquaintances on the road, they don't dare to talk and greet each other. They just exchange their eyes and walk away in a hurry. The tyranny of King Li became more and more severe, and the Chinese finally could not bear it. In 841 BC, the Chinese held a large-scale uprising. The people of the uprising besieged the palace to kill King Li. When Li Wang heard the news, he ran for his life in a hurry. After this uprising, the Zhou Dynasty began to decline. By the time of king you of the Zhou Dynasty, the rulers of the Zhou Dynasty could no longer control the vassal states. King you of Zhou ate, drank and played all day, and sent people to look for beautiful women everywhere, regardless of any national affairs. Later, you wang got a beauty and loved her very much. But after entering the palace, the beauty was depressed all day. In order to win the beauty a smile, you wang tried his best. Later, someone came up with a good idea for you Wang. In order to guard against the attack of dog soldiers, the Zhou dynasty built more than 20 beacon towers in Lishan (in the southeast of Lintong, Shaanxi Province), one every few miles. The soldiers guarding the pass used the beacon fire as a signal to convey military information. One night, king you of Zhou ordered to light all the beacon fires. When the nearby princes saw the beacon fire burning, they quickly led their troops to rescue them. But when they arrived, there was not even a dog soldier. You Wang was playing music and singing with the beauty. The princes were deceived, and the beauty laughed. Later, you Wang played the same game several times, and the princes gradually no longer believed it. Once, the dog soldiers attacked on a large scale, and the king panicked. He immediately ordered to light up the beacon fire of Lishan. The beacon fire was on fire, but none of the princes paid any attention to them. There are not many troops in Ho Jing. They are beaten by the dog soldiers. The people of Canrong rushed into the city like tides, killed king you of Zhou and robbed the beauty.

After this war, most of the land in the west of the Zhou Dynasty was occupied by Canrong. In 770 BC, King Ping of Zhou Dynasty moved his capital to Luoyi because he was worried that the capital would not be preserved. Because Haojing is in the West and Luoyi is in the East, the period when the Zhou Dynasty was the capital of the state in Haojing is called the Western Zhou Dynasty, and the period after moving the capital to Luoyi is called the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. From then on, the prestige of the royal family of Zhou Dynasty was destroyed, and the vassal states began to dominate the world. In this way, the Zhou Dynasty became a different stage of Guangdong and Guangxi. In addition, the capitals of these two stages were one in the West and the other in the East. Therefore, the Zhou Dynasty is divided into two stages: the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.
