Tai ding (son of Shang tang)

Tai ding(the year of his birth and death is unknown). The oracle bone inscriptions of Yin Ruins are written as Dading and his surname is Zi. TAIDING is the son of Shang Tang, the founding monarch of Shang Dynasty. According to historical records, TAIDING died before he succeeded to the throne, so Wai C, the younger brother of TAIDING, succeeded to the throne. He Wu, the spouse of TAIDING, was also sacrificed by the Yin people. Song Zhenhao and Han Jiangsu believed that there were three sons in Chengtang: TAIDING, waibing and Zhongren. As the eldest son, TAIDING was appointed as the prince, so it was included in the Zhou sacrifice of Yin people. However, TAIDING died before Tang and never became king. From the records of oracle bone inscriptions, we can not see that TAIDING ascended the throne.

TAIDING (date of birth and death unknown): also known as Dading, surnamed Zi and named Ding. He was the first Prince of Shang Dynasty and the eldest son of Chengtang. According to the records of the historian, he died before his father and became king before he could, but he was still listed as the king of the Shang Dynasty. After Cheng Tang died, his younger brother Wai C ascended the throne. [1] There are many oracle inscriptions about TAIDING, so some archaeologists believe that he once helped Shang Wang Chengtang to preside over military affairs.
